Henry Mahorney moved to Harrison County from Virginia sometime before 1824. He married Catherine Corder on July 14, 1824 in Harrison County. Their known children were: Alcinda, John Thomas, Sarah, Smith, Margaret E, William Henry, Catherine and Louisa. I will be adding additional information regarding these children in later posts.
I do not know where Henry and Catherine were buried, but do know that at least some of their children were buried in the Mount Pleasast Cemetery in Oddville.
It is believed that Henry was the son of Austin and Jemimah Mahorney from Fauquier County, Virginia though I have no documented proof.
There was also a rather large pocket of Mahorneys in Henry County, Kentucky and I would like to find the link to these Mahorneys if anyone has done that research.
I will be posting more info and photos as time passes. I would welcome your comments and assistance and corrections to the material posted.

I am a descendant of Smith Mahorney and have reached the same brick wall at the parents of Henry Mahorney and Catherine Corder Mahorney. Smith Mahorney was born in 1833 and married Harriet A. Fowler on 25 Sept. 1856. They had four children: Strother Boyd (my ggrandfather)b. 12 Sept. 1857 and married Ida Mary Smalley on 22 Feb. 1881 and died 5 Nov. 1943;Henry Brechinridge b. 11 Aug. 1859 and married Euzoradah Robinson on 25 May 1884 and died 21 March 1948; Ettie Mae b.? and married James Jasper Leomon on 23 June 1886 and died?; and George b.? and died at the age of four. I know that Harriet Fowler's father was Charles M. Fowler, but don't know her mother or grandparents names. If you can help I would appreciate it.

Kathy, I would like your information regarding the parents of Henry Mahorney. Several folks believe Austin was Henry's father, but I would welcome documentation regarding Stephen as the father.
